I tested the latest daily precise images from cdimage.ubuntu.com. They
are now including the 3.8-lts kernel bits. The immediate problem I
noticed is that the disk size for the 4k drives is not detected
properly. The drive is 1TB but the installer sees it as 125G

So, I built the 3.10.3 plain vanilla kernel, which went stable as of
today (Friday, July 26, 2013) and I can say that my crappy GM45 chip
works fine with the dreaded "test.odg" resizing test. Seems like things

For unknown reasons I couldnt boot natty from the usb pendrive i was using to
boot for 10.04 too.
So I tried to install again a new 12.04 amd 64 and it works out: I can

upstream claims "works for me", but the respective mails don't indicate
that they actually ran ps2pdf (rather than just gs) on the supplied test
files. Even if they did, it would appear that the core dump is seen due
by Ubuntu specific stack protection options.
