It would help if the Broadcom's brcmsmac developers would pick up the
pace a little and get something into the kernel that is stable,
effective, open source and supported. I only tried switching back to iwl
because brcmsmac is both deaf and drops out frequently on my BCM4313
chipset.

Thank you for taking the time to report this crash and helping to make
this software better. This particular crash has already been reported
and is a duplicate of bug #1143463, so is being marked as such.
The default behaviour of the boot with this bug is that the greeter
never appears; you just see the Ubuntu pulsing plymouth theme.
However, the system has booted so you can switch to a text console
(control+alt+f1 for example), login and take remedial action as shown in
#6.

It seems the bug is that dmraid -i -r -cr /dev/sda is listing the name
of the first subset rather than the superset. Your workaround won't
work if you have more than one array so it seems the underlying bug will
need to be fixed to have raid10 work.

Yeah, I can try another kernel, but I don't see how that helps to
