I also have an issue with a 5ghz network, where the system keeps
disconnecting and in dmesg I see continuous updates to the crda domain.
Weird enough, loading iwlwifi with the 5ghz_disable does not disable the
5ghz band at all. I still see the APs on the 5ghz band in iwlist wlan0

I don't recall having this problem with Quantal. Also, as noted in the
original report, linrunner did some testing and found this to be a
regression in the 3.8 kernel.

Yep, this affects me, too. I used to use Ubuntu One publishing all the
time via integration with Shutter screenshot tool. But now it just
stopped working, as did all file sharing / publishing functionality with
this "A file is no longer published" message. Seems like it must be a
bug in ubuntuone-c

I don't know if this will help or not, but when I uninstalled gnome 3.8
and took the ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3 off of my sources list, it
completely stopped crashing.
Before I uninstalled gnome 3.8, I had tried reinstalling and purging the
software center through both apt-get and synaptic.
