Hi there. I actually already tried the mainline kernel (I tacked that in
at the end of the original post). :) Unfortunately it didn't make a
difference and acted 100% identical to the 3.8 kernel from the regular
Ubuntu install.
On the flip side, a user on the UbuntuForums just gave me a suggestion
I tested it on N10 following the updated instructions and I can see the osk
coming up in both FB and browser.

(Ubuntu 12.04, both with openbabel 2.3.0+dfsg-3ubuntu3)
but this did not create any PNGs and the following messages:

Oh, right, I forgot that the version string came later. But since the
symptom is distributed over such a variety of availability zones and

I also get this error, and I'm running 12.04 as well.
The message repeats 16 times and the Gpointing Device Settings opens,
when issuing the command.
Unlike Jeremy (Comment 4), I can save settings.
Only thing off for me is that the trackpad is still very fast though
it's at the slowest setting.
