I got this bug in one of my machines when updating to 13.04, but not in
other machines I updated. It turns out that the machine affected is
behind a proxy, which is working as expected. Could it be related?

System asks me for my password at boot ( it normal), then when I log in

I just wanted to say that comment #19 of removing "system-ca-certs=true"
from /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections also worked for me.
Actually, what I did was set the statement to false. When I re-started

I'm running Ubuntu 13.04 and I don't have a
/usr/lib/libbfd-2.23.1-system.so on my system. I have a
/usr/lib/libbfd-2.23.2-system.so, so I ran:
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libbfd-2.23.2-system.so
/usr/lib/libbfd-2.23-system.so
and now grive is working again.

Oops, sorry I missed that you have it working correctly with 3.5.0-26.
But that is still newer than my running kernel...
