once you open the birghtness & lock settings or the screen dims then

Same situation here. I can't test any kernels because this is a
production system. Even if I had the resources to set up a test system,
it would be hard to check if an unstable kernel fixes the problem
because I don't know how to trigger the error.

Same problem here - updating to 13.04 crashed halfway through, a later
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
told me 4 packages were not installed, and gave me the following
messages (I hope it is clear despite being in German):

emu1010k firmware does not load in 13.04 with kernel 3.8.0.
With kernel 12.10, kernel 3.5 it was working, but to make it properly load
after hibernation I had to compile it into kernel with:

CONFIG_EXTRA_FIRMWARE="emu/emu1010b.fw emu/micro_dock.fw

extracted the archive and moved the missing files to a usable location
and made a symlink to the executable so it will work when you run key-
mon
