Yes there was a typo and iasl is the correct word.
As far as the other problem I am not near my system right now to try it. The
only difference I can think of is I first copied /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/DSDT
to another directory and then used that copy as the argument for the "iasl -d"

I'd prefer not to upload this patch at this point in time as it does
seem to be an interim fix and not ideal. I went searching for crashes
like this at errors.ubuntu.com about either epiphany-browser or lernid
and did not find any, so I don't believe a large number of people are
affected by this.
Actually, putting it into an shlib will be a net loss.
Rather take the full library, compression and decompression, link it
statically, and hardlink the compressor and decompressor binaries.
That‘d save more.
