In the 5 weeks since I reported this, I've experienced 8 more screen
freezes (i.e. about one every 4 days). The proprietary nvidia drivers
don't work for me, for whatever reason, so I'm stuck with a buggy
nouveau driver. This is really getting old, and I'm thinking about
downgrading to 12.04, or ma
I am surprised to hear about this after all this time. It's been 16
months.
I have given up on Ubuntu. This bug was just one indicator of what's wrong.
I have no interest in the social networking / smart phone integration that
seems to be your focus.

I’ve just pressed [Alt]+[Tab] to switch window in GNome-shell. As always a
“window” with all my openned window appears, it’s just that once I’ve selected
the window I wanted, the [Alt]+[Tab] “window” did not closed.

I think the idea of such a safety check for interactive use isn't brain
damaged, but in reality there is (or seems to be) no correct way to do
this check, and even more so if you also consider other OS than linux,
so I agree the only sensible thing to do is to remove it.

Public bug reported:
Have tried all troubleshooting documents to no avail. Have reinstalled the OS
with no change. Internal microphone does not work. Tried updating to Pulseaudio
3.0 (which isn't available in the software centre!) but the ./configure command
in the instructions is not recognize

used by both the installer and language-selector to set /etc/papersize
to a reasonable value as derived from an applicable locale. As regards
language-selector, it could be called when the system wide setting of
