I've got the card reader to work following the solution linked above by
Hélion (installing a Realtek driver on 12.04, independently of Adam's
mainline kernel, or Quantal updates). I first uninstalled Adam's
mainline kernel (rolled back to the normal kernel I was running before,
delivered to me via
Strange that the same hardware works flawlessly when running windows,
then? (i.e. 2560x1440 resolution in 60Hz). Unfortunately I've not been
able to run on that computer lately, so I don't know if it has been
fixed or not.
