apt-cache show midori|grep -i provide shows it provides www-browser,
as does firefox and chromium-browser , so it feels like they should all
be happy.
firefox does provide gnome-www-browser, but chromium-browser doesn't, so
I can't see that's the problem

I have problems to start steam

On my Leveno Y580, when the display manager starts, the screen
brightness is set to the lowest possible level. On this laptop, it means
the backlight is totally off, so you get nothing on screen at all.
Turning up the brightness with hotkeys works, but this has to be done on
