Well, I found out what happened, as I stumbled upon both the problem and
the fix just a couple minutes ago. Apparently gedit lets you edit what
the keyboard shortcuts for commands are, and the help files doesn't say
a thing about it (I did look for such a feature, and I didn't find it).

We have smoke tested on an AMD Dinar and an E-350. Seems like everything

Do you still have the problem with Pidgin? I think I’ve found the solution;
it’s simple:
Go to Pidgin Preferences -> Interface -> System Tray Icon, and choose ALWAYS
for “Show system tray icon”.

The patch is still in platform-x86 maintainer's tree, for requiring another
patch goes into linus' tree first.
I think this patch will land on 3.8 kernel soon.

Is there an atomic way of doing this? Otherwise the file could be
replaced with a symlink between the lstat and the copy.
