I am also reporting that the workaround, compiling the manufacturer's

[Dell Studio XPS 1340] nouveau driver cause
This has always been a problem. You can't have two MTP clients talking
to one device at the same time. Rhythmbox tries to talk directly at the
same time as gvfs and two stomp on each other. It was hard to notice
before because gvfs would simply fail to connect at all using the
gphoto2 backend, and
