Moved the .local/source/rhythmbox/ folder to a safe place, uninstalled,
rebooted, reinstalled, opened, and it popped up with the same semi-full
library and all existing playlists. I guess it's nice that my data are
safe (!) but surprising that they must be stored someone as well as the
above named

There was no issue prior to Ubuntu 12.10 shipped with 3.5 kernel. Come

One way to rule out the kernel is to boot back into the 3.5 kernel and
see if the problem still persists? Do you still have the 3.5 kernel
installed on your system to test this?

I stay invisible in Google Talk and I like it like this. Often it
happens to see the System wheel (top left of screen, on the bar) to be
red and Accounts to be red also. They need to be granted access. But I
discovered that I am set to Visible in Gtalk after I grant access.
