I found the workaround. Critical battery trigger has two modes:
'nothing' will ignore a seemingly critically low battery signal
'suspend' is the default which causes the computer to suspend upon receiving
this erroneous signal

I am using only lightdm and Unity. My lightdm.conf is attached above.
Also, in my case the screen does _not_ power down after 10 minutes, it
just displays black. i.e., the HDMI display connected to it shows that
it is still receiving a signal. By comparison, the "Turn off screen when

Just ran into this problem myself. Occurred after debian auto updates,
with first apparent symptom being that Chromium wouldn't open. Paying
closer attention showed that Chromium was actually opening, but closing
quickly.
This led to an attempt to open Chromium from the Terminal with
parameters

installation wouldn't finished, I stopped Ubuntu software center, then
desinstall frontaccounting, then tried to install it again but I got an
error message. I tried several times to uninstall and install, n

dashboard applications .
