I got this too, by "activating" 304 with jockey and then, without
restarting, activating 310 instead. Next reboot, X failed. Running
'startx' produced this:

I have discovered a useful workaround:
Splashtop.
It is a much more functional remote desktop solution than VNC or Vino.
It has sound. You can play 3D games over it and even Second Life works
beautifully.

The SRU upload for this has a couple of issues, unfortunately:
- The .changes file was generated on Debian, not on Ubuntu, so the LP bug
references are missing. We need this to be generated on Ubuntu for the SRU
tracking process to work. I would reupload to fix this myself, except
I'm surprised (and a bit appaled) at the number of FTBFS bugs still open
in precise. I was able to verify this particular one and will see if I
can come up with a debdiff.

I reinstalled 12.04.1 precise and the tochpad works fine (unsure if it
took the updates or not.) So it looks like this bug can be closed.

pulseaudio or alsa pulse plugin does not work well wiyth those low

Note, my shell log shows the behavior with mount -o
uid=500,gid=500,umask=000. The same behavior (chmod has no effect)
occurs when using mount -o permissions,uid=500,gid=500,umask=000 (as if
-o permissions is being silently ignored).

~/.config, configuring app and closing it; gajim won't more run, cleaning of
config files and dirs doesn't help; the same problem appears after first run;
