That was annoying more than launching synaptic, because I could start synaptic
by gksudo or sudo synaptic on command line or in ALT+F2 dialog in Gnome-shell.

I see the same issue was in arch linux, but was fixed
I've tried so many times without success. Got a screenshot but that will
not tell us much. However, sometimes it starts so it doesn't crash all
the time.
Maybe I need to get a serial cable so I can redirect output to a
terminal.

Thanks MC Return, it fixed the output, now the images don't have the
blue layer. However I still have a flickering in the transparency when I
select an area. I can try to provide a video if it helps.
