I get this same error on startup of 12.04. The crash report app has the
same "Bad file descriptor" error. The crash only appears to happen on
startup. I can run unattended-upgrade from the console after startup and

I keep reading that this is fixed but the the appmenu for libreoffice is
broken for me, even after wiping my disk and doing a fresh install of
Ubuntu 12.10 amd 64.
When starting libreoffice, by any means, the menu appears in the app
panel but dissapears when trying a command like alt-f

I can now confirm that in my case (Crucial M4 SSD), the problem has been
solved by a firmware upgrade (010G) released by crucial in late
september that can be found here:
