Agree. Any sort of 'peek' feature would be good for now. Right now I
have a Nautilus file transfer going on in the background and I can see
the status of it's progress by looking at the Home folder icon in the
Launcher (or whatever the sidebar is called). But I also have a Nautilus
folder open.

Using Elementary OS Luna Beta1 on kernel ???.33 installed amd-driver-
installer-12.6-legacy-x86.x86_64.run and rebooted. after autologin to
the desktop I did a software update check and cancelled, then i opened a
terminal window and typed in aticonfig. Then I got the error window for
this bug
A customer is looking for this fix in precise/quantal. The attached
patch is trivial and will not cause any regression. This is awaiting
review on upstream, but pretty safe to include.

Error when trying to restore file
The workarounds described here do not work for me.
I cannot enable syncing my Ubuntu One folders on my new computer. I
tried deleting the file and and changing its values. But that made no
difference. Please fix this quickly!
My System: Ubuntu 12.10 64bit

Trying a lot of different ways to disable plymouth, I find system
shutdown to print "umount: / busy" on reboot/shutdown, with a subsequent
forced fsck at boot.
Current status of disable project is adding plymouth.enable=0 to
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX in /etc/default/grub
