Try pressing the escape key when booting and see if any messages that
look relevant appear. Ideally, you should boot by removing "quiet" and
"splash" from the kernel command-line.
It would be useful to see your /etc/fstab file if you can attach it too.
What happens if you boot the machine normall
TBH, the original poster has still to provide additional information
that will help to triag the problem and distinguish from other similar
ones.
My personal take would be that this is indeed Incomplete till he comes
back so that he can try additional workarounds.

Nothing seems to happen when pressing Escape, even when booting with the

Like Michael Weimann, I only started seeing this under 12.10. Ubuntu
12.04 was fine, although I copied my fstab over. Maybe the bug used to
be quite specific, but now applies more generally.
One difference I see from the OP is that my mounts are all root:
/media/data/folder /home/username/fol
Just a record, in this report i have tried a attempt to run edgers xorg,
but it happens in sameway in original Quantal. If needed some debug i
can run a not-updated version too.

It seems that udisks2 sets unconditionnally ACLs and exits if it fails.
So, udisks2 doesnt' work if the root filesystem doesn't support ACLs.
Which is the case, by default for ext3. You can add acl support in your
mount options in /etc/fstab, if you are using ext3 on your root
filesystem :
