I just put a test1 version of a kernel to the same place as the
nospinlock one. From my tests it seems that the problem in the Xen
paravirt spinlock implementation is the fact that they re-enable
interrupts (xen upcall event channel for that vcpu) during the hypercall
to poll for the spinlock irq.
In my case this problem randomly appears on boot before greetings screen
and i receive message "The system is running in low-graphics mode"

Things that I noticed:
Sometimes the drum sounds on login actually get played but after that the
computer stays mute.
If nothing else this tells me the speakers are working fine, so no hardware
failure here.
When I ran ubuntu-bug on this and it tried to play a test sound I could hear
the speaker

Adding the "sleep 2" is working for me! When i comment out the "sleep 2"
line, lightdm won't starting again. Then the "sudo /etc/init.d/lightdm
restart" helps me.

After updating to Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal my external USB harddrive
with several partitions can be unmounted but not detached (safely
removed). I tried to update the deliverd Nautilus 3.4.2 to 3.6 with the
"ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3" PPA but then it even didn't start. USB flash
drives are dismoun

MAAS supports managing DHCP but not DNS. The problem is that the task
'write_full_dns_config' (connected via signals) is always triggered
(when a nodegroup is changed or a node updated). We simply need to skip

Have installed lxdm via Synaptic Package Manager. Still intermittent
login display freezing - but it only last for about 2 minutes - and the
system return to normal.

Are you seeing this yourself, or is this gathered from the experiences
of others? I ask because that dialog should only appear if apport-gtk is
not installed, which would not be the case for Ubuntu installation
media.

I can see a crash report in /var/crash by the name
"_usr_bin_skype.1000.crash" whose size is approx. 28 MB. This is, what
ive read is created by apport. If this report is of value, I dont know
how to upload it >???

I don't want to hurt anybody, but I took the wrong words. I'm very sorry
