Have tonight tried with the release version of 12.10 - and the issue is
still there. See attached syslog from the latest installation attempt.
I had to use my workaround of removing my hard disk while installing

I tried to install the proprietary drivers (tested) but after reboot

I have just flashed the newest bios (1.8), but saw absolutely no change
in the wireless behavior. It misbehaves exactly as it did before, and
the same workaround still works.
