Ah, it seems that starting the script a second time after manual cleanup
seemed successful will cause a hang. Apparently on deleting the snapshot
but there is no activity on the disk.

Same issue with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS x64, with a hardwired desktop. Happens
about 50% of the time on startup, but I have actually recently noticed
that it might be fine at startup, but appear hours later as
