I tried just now using the today build with my usb key (4GB). Same problem.
Moreover, if I press the "Home" key before pressing the "Enter" key,
everything hangs and I must reboot the system.

I suspect I am seeing the same problem, sound occasionally stutters with
the loops being about half a second long. This happens irrespective of
what application is producing the sound.

This bug has been fixed upstream in poppler 0.20.4 which is available in
Kubuntu 12.10 "Quantal Quetzal". Can you please test with Kubuntu 12.10 beta 2
now or with Kubuntu 12.10 final when it is released on 18th October 2012?

Is this still happening? I no longer have the system that I found this
bug on. I posted the workaround in this threads first message, and a
solution was committed to Ubuntu long ago. Should not be a problem in
current ubuntu. Yes, my searches say that the fix was committed in
July 2011.
