With the upstream kernel the screen immediately goes blank and never
recovers.
Issuing "sudo halt" over SSH doesn't do anything. It broadcasts a
message saying that a shutdown has been performed but nothing at all
happens.
Cannot test properly with upstream kernel.

when temperatures hits about 50 it starts pulsing (faster and slower,

I wasn't able to follow the exact instructions on the wiki page because
my system is just appending different sessions to the main kernel log,
instead of archiving old log files. I've cut out all of the earlier
sessions so it should just be of the most recent one, including a test
of suspend and aw

Okay, so we think we know the source of the problem.
All the text in the PDF is drawn with text rendering mode 7, which means
"add to clip". So drawing the text accumulates an enormous path, which
is then use to clip. Hence the limitcheck error on clip.
