I solved my problem with Gnome Classic and unwanted Unity dock showing
in this session. I just disabled Unity Plugin in CompizConfig.
I've tested Unity from the SRU PPA (5.14.0+bzr2400ubuntu0+704) against
Gnome Classic with Compiz (1:0.9.7.8-0ubuntu1.4).

Another question: is there a way to make sure that RC6 is on? When I
checked the estimated battery time, I didn't see any difference between
kernel 3.2.0 with RC6 disabled in grub, and kernel 3.6.0 with RC6
presumably on (by default). I want to avoid testing a lot of kernels and
then realizing that

Similar to guyster, I see 2 versions of libedataserver loaded - 15.0 and
17.0 - with thunderbird 15.0+build1-0ubuntu1.

Purging libedataserver-1.2-15 seems to have done the trick - after doing
so, thunderbird is functional and I see just one instance of
libedataserver in /proc/*/maps
I still have 2 versions of libedataseerver on disk:

Let's try this again. I see this:
1) xrandr thinks the monitor is attached and enabled.
2) /sys/class/drm/card0/card0-VGA-1 says the monitor is connected, but NOT

enabled)

The two branches attached to this should produce a binary that lets you
choose beijing for the city, even when offline. I have not tested the
quantal branch of indicator-datetime personally because of a lack of
time, but the patch was clean and it compiled so I'm assuming it's good.

Backporting the QMI support from MM git master (0.7) to 0.5/0.6 is a
thousand times more complex than improving NetworkManager to support MM
0.7, which is anyway something planned to be done. Help welcome :-)

i'm getting suspicious about this issue... i've upgraded memory on my laptop
and i feel that it works better now... i wonder how much memory do you guys
have... i think that issue always come to the surface when the system starts to
swap memory to the hard disk.
I'm gonna investigate this more
