ASUS P5*/P6* motherboard that I know of has pretty much
strange thing is, that i also had errors when trying to install the i386 of the
3.4-precise kernel.

Everything works fine, except that the KDE menus are empty and all file
associations are not working because i.e. dolphin thinks that I have no
applications installed.

The verification of the fix for this bug in oneiric-proposed never
occurred so I am setting the task back to Fix Committed. It'd be great
if somebody could test the package from -proposed so we can release the
fix.

this software better. This particular crash has already been reported
and is a duplicate of bug #948667, so is being marked as such. Ple
nevermind the previous comments:
1. for some reason, when you want to install a kernel for a intel core i5 on a
64bit system, you need to select the kernel "amd64" and not "intel".
2. to clean up a kernel, the easiest way is to use Synaptic
3. to update your grub after removing a kernel, cmd "sud
