As of release of Alpha3 iso this seems to be resolved.
At least on my i386 hardware. I had been removing
ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu from the live session resulting
in successful installs.
It appears that the recent changes in ubiquity have been
successful in resolving this issue. Thank You!

It's actually two bugs, and perhaps it should be rewritten to reflect
that. The bug in unity is that it captures the super key, and refuses
access to anything further in the stack, including g-s-d.
We have found a workaround for super-P for g-s-d, and that's what the
verification-needed is about.

on the vm, stops with
'Please remove the installation media and close the tray (if any) and press

I have my apache installation setup behind an nginx reverse proxy. When
I try to use the access controls(for example in an htaccess file) to
allow/deny by ip address, apache only sees the proxy's ip. A php script
sees the remote_addr variable set correctly however.
