I had the same problem with 12.04 LTS, x86_64, 3.2.0-27-generic, fully
updated. It affected both Suspend and Hibernate, and Ctrl+Alt+Fs didn't
work, so I had to switch off the machine. Then I realised that I had
installed nvidia-current but not nvidia-current-updates, via the
Additional Drivers app
I got qemu with vde working as follows. I built the qemu-kvm from quantal
with the attached qemu-vde.debdiff applied. Then set up the qemu vde nic
and started qemu as follows:

netmask 255.255.255.
I did try offlining/onlining a vCPU within a HVM Lucid guest here and
that seems to be working. Maybe you could give me the details of your

If this happens elsewhere, it would be very important and if not, I'd
love to know what I did to cause it to happen for me. So I posted a new

The workaround is fine, but only
Marking In Progress as it's in the unapproved queue, however it looks
like this bug would need some updating to match SRU criteria (missing
test case, missing rational and missing regression potential sections).

I've been bitten too. I have a software RAID 10, /dev/md0, which is made
up of /dev/sd[a-d]2. /dev/md0 is the only "physical" volume in a volume
group. Looking at the first two sectors of /dev/sd[a-d]2, there are
indeed volume group manager labels, but this is as I would expect:
