1. i8042 interrupt trigged when touchpad move up/left/down/right
2. evst shows the coordination when touchpad move up/left/down/right
3. there is no event in XEV when touchpad move up/left/down/right
4. touchpad is still disabled even gnome-s
That laptop is not mine already but I will install on it Ubuntu 12.04
LTS and update and will report in a few hours...

caused by the combination of libunwind/glibc that is present in 12.10.
The INSTALL, bug tracker and ML make reference to this being a pain
point on x86_64 - but I see the same issues on other archs.

I encountered the same problem. Here are some additional details and a
workaround.
This is a fresh 12.04 install, with updates but no new software or
options added yet except for the nVidia proprietary drivers ("Updated",
not "Current"). My video resolution is 1600x900 on my laptop and
1920x1200
One more note: I expect the "Changing launcher location" step is
unrelated to the bug. I see this problem when I simply open the
"Displays" application and click on Apply, regardless of the "Launcher
placement" setting.

Yes, I think the USB disk is unrelated to gwibber, and you have TWO bad
disks. The log you posted though did not go back far enough to see the
problem with gwibber. You might try reproducing the error then running
dmesg immediately.

in installed the latest Virtualbox (4.1.18) from the ppa. Now I'm able
to compile the dkms-modul but the bug still exists. With activated
"VT-x/AMD-V" the system freezes with all the kernels I tested

and click on 'Documents' as soon as you click you see a quick highlight
on the 'quit' item.

I'm seeing very similar results. Kernel 3.4.x boots perfectly fine,
however, Kernel 3.5.x crashes and I'm unable to obtain logs.

The nouveau drivers do not support my display resolution (1600x900),
thus I was unable to evaluate the bug using the open source drivers.
After re-installing the Nvidia 302.17, I now find that the problem does
not occur on the first instance of starting LibreOffice. However, the
problem does occur
