Hello, also an ASUS N55SF at my possession. I've installed bumblebee from the
PPA and the issue seems to be resolved.
There seems to be no more crazy heat coming out of the air vents and by running
`optirun nexuiz` it ran smoothly and nicely as opposed to running `nexuiz`
which was a bit choppy
oh and what's weird is that I get the desktop back (without unity /
window-manager) when I kill indicator-printers-service after killing
compiz... Running unity --replace restores the broken state.

I tested the same setup now also on an Debian Squeeze Dom0 and tried to
boot the DomU with the Linux 3.2.0 kernel from the Debian Backports
repository. In this setup the filesystem gets corrupted and can't be
read so the DomU can't boot.

The title of this bug is wrong. I don't know if I mistyped it or if
something else went wrong but the right title should be "Wireless very

installed 6.0.0-1ubuntu1.11.10.1 from oneiric-proposed as explained at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed and the permanent demand
for updating is gone. The patch works for me. Please include it in the
regular updates.

The fix would be to make the -dev packages multi-arch enabled too, but
IMO it is a bit late in the Debian development cycle to do this kind of
changes. The Ubuntu folks may want to do this anyway though. See [0] and
[1] as an example fix.
