Integrated graphics seems to be the problem: this takes some of the main
RAM memory and this somehow causes the problem. This seems to be
confirmed by what Kai Nickel reports. After putting an old Nvidia card
in his system the problem is gone. This is most surely a card that does
not share memory b
I confirm this on my Samsung N310 with 12.04 up to date. It is rather
annoying and makes it really difficult to grab the separator to resize
the panes. It reminds me of the old bug about the same problem with the
windows' sides...

distros installed and is LVM-based.
Again, this is a regression - this didn't happen before Precise, and now
it happens with all other Linus distros that are Precise derivatives
