I recently upgraded from 10.10 to 12.04 when cups-pdf was perfect now
it's useless because of this. All the text printed to PDF is embedded as
an image, as hence the text cannot be copied and it's like having a
piece of paper.
Printing was done from both Firefox and Chromium.

This happens to me when I load Google-Chrome. Once it loads, it asks me
for my password to unlock the keyring, the it's off to the races!
It doesn't seem to ever stop using 100% CPU (on my 3.4GHz Pentium D).
If I kill it, everything seems fine.

OK. I remember now that I had to install Unity 2D because Unity (3D) does not
work in my session, but it's another story ...
I made the test with a guest session using unity 3D and I didn't get the
isssue
Have you tried actually plugging something in? The new sound settings
will not show things if they are not available.
Or is it an internal microphone that does not show up?

Hi Sebastien, yes sound is working for those users. Just it is muted for
them at login and they must change it every time. The session will not
remember their previous sound settings.
I notice that 12.04 boots to the login menu with the sound muted. It
looks like this state may be propogated into

Unfortunately ubuntu.py crashed when running apport-collect. It
appears that it doesn't like the package name. Which package name do
you suggest for the kernel, 12.04, AMD 64, Ubuntu desktop?

Ok Alessio, i finally installed the very latest release of quantal, and
inside this VM, I installe transcode 1.1.7 and tried the exact same
test.
The result is exactly the same : undefined symbol: avcodec_init

I have a pci video capture adapter with 8 Conexant Fusion 878A inputs
using the bttv module. Every input is recognized as a different device
(/dev/video{0..7}). By default in previous ubuntu versions (worked with
11.04 and 11.10) the detection and creation of the devices had
401 - 500 of 2071 matches
