detect on boot if I'm plugged in or on battery. If I unplug, it doesn't

Unfortunately it's me again ! Since earlier i turned off the computer.
When i started it again a little while ago, i discovered that :
- i don't face anymore a black screen
- i'm able to log into ubuntu normally
- on the top right and left of the screen i have white patches which clear away
momen
I just encountered the same problem. I did two things to work around
this:

Not sure if this is the same bug, but on two separate laptops, after
enabling an external monitor, Ubuntu no longer correctly detects the
laptops' native screen resolutions when the external monitor is
disconnected.
