Actually, it occurs to me that if the down-process scripts were written
how I suggested above, the whole persistent-nic thing would be moot

For those of you with TOTAL freeze and using ath9k driver for a wireless
card I have been able to fix the problem.
So, my case seemed to be really the wireless driver + the model in used,
concretly an AR9287 as reported by lspci.

Has anybody figured out a way to install 12.04 64 server version as Xen
VM?? I even tried mounting a CIFS share using just the .iso, still

This happens to me several times a day. When viewing the preview of the
large the display freezes and trying to scroll, the preview will be
corrupted. Restarting evolution resets the pane until a large mail is
previewed again.

I can reliably cause evolutions preview pane to freeze when viewing
large mails. The only way to get it working again is to restart
evolution.
This a duplicate of at least #865461 but apport-collect asked me to file
a new report.

Whatever issue prevented the users from upgrading their MBR from 10.04
to 12.04 is unlikely to magically resolve itself for 12.10; so we should
really fix this for quantal as well.
