Was same for me on RTL8191SEvB Wireless LAN Controller (rev 10). Now looks
okay.
Except that sometimes Ubuntu 12 loses a connection when stand alone (with no
activity).

I could reproduce the bug with firefox, Software center and with absolutely any
application I tried, under a certain condition, and it's interesting.
Try this:
- launch firefox and do absolutely nothing with the window.
- open nautilus : no bug, it works.
- Close nautilus, back

Could the people affected please explain what is not working? Using
'exec' is deprecated and should be replaced with 'extend'. Was this
option tried and you still failed to see results?

I was originally reporting that after setting up my mobile broadband
connection to use a custom dns resolver using network manager, nslookup
still reports that Ubuntu is still using one that is provided by my ISP.
After searching on the internet, I found out that this probably is not

Same for me. Running 12.04 and noticed that when gimp (2.8) is open but
there is no launcher icon, opening a file does not bring gimp into focus
even though the file opened.

Bug confirmed, I hit the issue with gimp recently as well, other bugs
report similar problem with xchat-gnome though I didn't see those
Marco, could you have a look? The new bamf didn't go out yet so not sure
if that would make a difference

I decided to move to the nouveau open driver.
Remove nvidia driver:
sudo apt-get --purge remove nvidia*
and install the open one:
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-nouveau libdrm-nouveau1a
nouveau-firmware
It works very well (Ubuntu 12.04 Nvidia GeForce Go 8400M GS).
No Xorg crash so far
