multiple tabs open in Chromium and I drag one tab away, it detaches from
the current Chromium window and becomes its own Chromium window. This is
normal.

This is what I did to get mysql 5.5 running on ubuntu 12.04
After upgrading to 12.04 I got the errors listed in the bug report and I
could not start mysql or set a password.
what I did was to run
1) sudo apt-get --purge remove mysql-server-5.1 mysql-server-5.5
and then run
2) sudo apt-get ins
The file is also created when opening PDFs in the Konqueror browser (at
least on Trinity Desktop Environment). A workaround is to use Okteta or
another binary/hex editor to modify
/opt/Adobe/Reader9/Browser/intellinux/nppdf.so and replace
C:\nppdf32Log\debuglog.txt with /dev/null (and trailing NULs

this is by design and won't get changed:
