Hi
I have a fresh installation of 12.04 (3.2.0-24-generic-pae).
When I run xdiagnose from the "Dash" any change in the satting has no effect.
I had to run it from a terminal using sudo. Doing so everything goes right.

Yes, it succeeded when I performed just a rename of the usr.sbin.mysqld
under /etc/apparmor.d
So my guess is that something is broken under the mysqld file in
apparmor that needs to be fixed.

possible to select Japanese keyboard Sanwa which is supported by Xorg in
xkb-data 2.5-1ubuntu1. See grep -riI sanwa /usr/share/X11/xkb/ and
attached screenshot.

Some more investigation revealed that the playback delay only occurs
