I just noticed the same behaviour on my wife's laptop and mine. Both are
running Precise x86_64 with the latest kernel (3.2.0-23-generic).

Oh, i think i've missunterstood you. Do you want a confirmation about
the issue in the specific kernels (what i did actually) or a
confirmation about an successful bug-fix with the patch attached in post
#21?
However, i've tested the patch in 11.10 with Kernel 3.0 and the bug is
fixed.

Not 100% sure if this fixes the problem for me, I only tested a couple
of hours now (without freezes). But it definitely fixes some issues I
had with my builtin Intel 3945ABG wifi.
Here is some new information:
- I can boot into recovery mode.
- From there I can modprobe the "rtl8180" module, which works fine.
- lsmod shows that the module is loaded and used by these other modules:
"mac80211", "eeprom_93cx6", "cfg80211".
- I then configure the wlan0 interface in /etc/networ

Seems that apport take care only of the beginning of the error message :
it identify:
- aptdaemon crashed with AttributeError in _inline_callbacks()
- but ignore the end of the error : 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'send'
