that we get a utf8 encoded string and uses that as input for %s - then
python will try to convert it to a string without a encoding and that

Looking at the title of this bug 'kerberos auth doesn't work because of
kerberos server not found' - I'm struggling to see what the bug actually
is as this sounds like reasonable behavior.
