I have installed Ubuntu12.04 in kvm(on Ubuntu11.10) and also installed
the home media center "freevo".
freevo is heavy conflicting with unity, so that a simple login in the

So I have managed to enable MSI on the older kernel (Kernel:
2.6.32-38-preempt) by installing the 295.20 NVIDIA driver manually. I
tried installing it on the upstream kernel but I couldnt as the system
would just hang every time I tried to stop the gdm service.

The --no-log will be a kernel command line option.
If you're on x86 or amd64, you would stop the Grub boot, and manually
edit the kernel cmdline to add the --no-log. Then, once you're up and
running, you would edit /etc/default/grub changing GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX,
to affect both normal and recover

That makes more sense. There was a workaround on some Dell machines to
enable the touchpad as an IMPS mouse which got it supporting a few
features like two-finger taps. bit I don't think this ever worked for
the v4 touchpads.
