You were right -- tried again and exit from busybox after 'drmaid -ay'
successfully completed the boot.
As far as the raid setup, essentially that's the end result of throwing
in the 11.10 alternative cd in the machine the day it arrived with
windows installed and following the prompts.
I've found the problem. It's because hunspell depends from the english
localization. Se during the build, removing hunspell it remove also the
ubuntu-defaults-it package levaing the configuration in an half way.
Moving this bug to the ubuntu-defaults-it package.

Additionally, the mount also fails with mount.cifs, although it asks for
a password before saying 'permission denied'.

PAE kernel is installed by default on i386 with no appropriate PAE kernel
header files installed.
Problem solved after installing generic-pae header files.

I have run the test on ARM on a number of toolchains, and confirmed that there
is no failure in that case.

able to easily change my system time zone to London using the date/time
indicator however my appointments in Thunderbird (Lightning) did not
update to reflect the change. I had to dig through the preferences
