is overwritten by the (save) file? When I edit the config, then perform
a restore , the configuration seems to be replaced as my

I have this problem as well. Unity 2d, which uses metacity, has tearing,
while the normal mode, which uses compiz, doesn't.

I also have this issue. It is a fresh install from CD version. My Graphics Card
is Radeon HD 6950 flashed with 6970 bios. I use fglrx-update. I did not install
it with jockey but with apt-get. Core i7 2600K 8GB RAM.

This is still happening in the 1/28 live i386 image after booting a live
usb stick with persistence and choosing try Ubuntu (German locale, Dell
D630 laptop).

This issue continues to exist in Ubuntu 12.04 alpha. I set the language
to English, and the locale to Romanian.
Now the authentication dialog is displayed in English (as it should be),
but the dialog's bold header text is in Romanian (it should be in
English).
