I have this same bug regularly as well. Only Nautilus seems to suffer
from it though, I haven't seen this problem in other applications yet.
My guess would also be that this is not an NVIDIA specific problem, but
I could be wrong, I do use the NVIDIA graphics driver as well.

Changed the subject since the problems occur on 3.* versions as well. I am not
sure if the cause is the same.
The afore mentioned 3.0.17 build is still pretty stable. AS far as the the deb
files difference are considered the buid options might be different I build my
kernels with the command:

Am I reading it right, that short of not using btrfs there is no
workaround?

Speaking to the OP, this does not work, as explained above.
This was tried way back when with "sudo rfkill unblock all" and it worked
for
about 5 minutes until the user tried to connect to an AP, but then the
hp-wifi
(I can only assume) kicked back in and hard blocked everything.

Hi,
I have just installed Xubuntu 11.10 in my Laptop. Everything was working
fine for 1 day.
Suddenly the audio was not playing in the lap. However, I can hear the
audio with micorphone inserted.
So, I guess the issue with the alsa-driver. Any ideas?
