I note that Evince is being denied access to a number of other files in
/data/scott and /data/scott/Desktop before attempting to create its temp file.

When you create the file (e.g. by write(2) system calls), the process gets
stuck at some point when
it goes over a threshold, suspected to be 4GB, though my file was actually 5GB.

PS: I can't use TwinView because of tearing. The two displays have
different refresh rates and the nvidia driver is not capable to address

This only happens when
1) nvidia driver is active
2) the two screens (one normal LCD screen, on LCD TV) are active as seperate X
screens

ifconfig don't
Suggest closing this as at current there is no support (or will to add
support) and Intel have appeared to have discontinued it. I realise many
people have this embedded in there current system but as it is not just
a block device the cost benefit ratio to add support many be small.
