This seems to be 100% reproducible:
1. Run 'evince some.pdf'
2. Close lid (suspend)
3. Open lid (resume)
4. Unlock screen
5. CPU goes to 100%
6. 3-4 minutes later evince crashes anyway.
It sometimes happens instantly, with:

Difficult to provide logs --- bootlog only holds the last successful
log, not the previous, unsuccessful one (this may be a bug by itself ...

After uninstalling and reinstalling the psmouse-dkms-alps .deb package
(via double-click) to share the info above, I noticed it hadn't actually
reinstalled. It had 'silently' failed in the stupid Ubuntu Software
management tool. The error which was being hidden was...

I confirm the bug in my notebook`s Radeon HD 4200. The "Workaround 1"
worked with system running a copy of Ubuntu 11.10, which first presented
this problem for me. Thanks a lot for the workaround.

this software better. This particular crash has already been reported

I have spend a lot of time trying different setups to test this. The
conclusion seems to be:
1) The problem is apparent on both ATI and Nvidia hardware.
2) It only occurs on multiscreen setups
3) It only and always occurs when the Unity plugin to Compiz is active.
Simple reproduction can be don
The system that we have has some HW issues. I will follow up once it is
fixed.

Every now and then Firefox becomes unresponsive, i.e. one cannot type text in
interactive fields, bookmark folders (in the top) cannot be opened.
May be cured with minimize/maximize play.
After one minimizes/maximizes, the text that was typed (but nothing happened)
instantly

I have already tried with barrier=0 (I use it already in Oneiric without
problems) but in Precise the problem persists.

Samba (SMBD) is more suitable for file server.
I think is better disable avahi and include on samba package a avahi

Looks like that this printer only understands an unknown, proprietary
protocol. Perhaps the printer works when choosing the Minolta PagePro
1200W, 1250W, or 1300W as model, with Foomatic/min12xxw as driver.
Please tell here whether this works.
