Observed this to happen with the Adobe Reader 9.4 plugin too (nppdf.so).
Only worse.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Open a pdf in a new tab
2) Adobe plugin renders pdf inside tab
3) open another tab
4) navigate to site (e.g. www.gmail.com)

I have no way of reproducing the bug atm, so I'd just mark the bug as
invalid. If I ever encounter this problem again I'll re-report it.
Besides, HAL is pretty much purged from upstream (not sure about Ubuntu)
so if hal-lock was indeed the problem, it won't be anymore.

I'm trying to do some system profiling on a server that's behaving
poorly while cloning repositories. To do proper profiling I need the
debug symbols but I can find them even with the ddebs.ubuntu.com repo
added.

I tested this again alterning using passwd and gnome-control-center.
Each time the problem above repeats with gnome-control-center but passwd
works correctly.

I launched gparted from terminal, but there's no output, see attached immage.
I have this output on /var/log/syslog, but these messages occur also
when gparted is closed so I'm not sure they are caused by gparted:

I think GParted should have your own integration/functional test for
such kind of critical functionality. The testing process requires too
much time and energy from me to be repeated. I am unlikely to use
GParted for repeated resizing of partitions anymore.

Yes, I believe this used to be allright (do-relase-upgrade did not mess
with X11 at all, which is the correct way of behaving from my point of
view)
