As I have wireless connections already setup-- ones that connect
automatically and are available to all users-- I would expect these

My observation is that compiz has a high cpu usage, please see attached

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. I was sort of able to get it to work
using the net installer but then it didn't seem to boot properly for
some reason (it also installed GRUB onto the USB drive I was installing
from so that might have some part in it not booting).

It's a bug in the Linux support patch. It byteswaps a 32-bit value as it

Are you able to reproduce this relatively easily? The stack traces
gathered automatically don't reveal much about the problem. Can you
collect a manual stacktrace in gdm for this bug?

I cannot see any "random" WMI-events in oneiric.
But i can still reproduce a
[TIME] dell_wmi: Received unknown WMI event (0x11)
opening display in tablet mode (every time i open/close in tablet mode)
and
[TIME] dell_wmi: Received unknown WMI event (0xf)
[TIME] dell_wmi: Received unknown WMI eve
The same error. Ubuntu 11.10 64-bit
echo -n '[version]\nversion=0.8' >> ~/.kde/share/config/kdenliverc
Doesn't help (kdenliverc is empty)

The 11.10 release of Ubuntu saw GDM replaced with LightDM. Does this
problem still exist in the latest release? (I don't have a number pad on
my keyboard to test this out).
