package gettext 0.17-3ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess
post-installation script
this bug was worked around in nux for natty already. As far as I recall the
problem was that mesa or better the gallium drivers did not respect a glScissor
of 0x0px size(dont paint at all) so it was increased to 1x1px.
So basically it is fixed for unity, but I dont know wheter glScissor is fixed
proposed version (3.2.1-0ubuntu3) doesn't help, back to ppa -> now it
works again.

No, there is no need to export etc. if you just run a few commands like
that; the temporary LANGUAGE value is inherited by processes started
from the same terminal process. I take for granted that you realize that

I switched to Oneiric on two of my systems. I have not seen the bug. But
then again I don't think I booted into the "live CD" mode of the DVD.
It seems to be my home system that I reported this on.
On both systems I had trouble getting the system to run in dual screen
mode. On one syst

OK, I uploaded the extra info and changed back to "new".
But something really weird happened. This system has had this problem since the
beginning (I think I updated it when Oneiric was RC1), and it's been used every
day since, so it's been rebooted dozens of times.
But now, things have changed.
User typhoon_tip from the ubuntuforums posted a partial solution to this
bug by doing:
1) Open two terminals and one of them type "gconftool-2 --recursive-unset
/apps/compiz-1"
2) On the other run "unity --reset"
3) On the first opened terminal run "ccsm" and enable (or re-enable the Unity

Thanks for the comment. I have not experienced this particular failure
mode for some time now (but then again I have not been using LibreOffice
intensively recently). So it may have been incidentally fixed as a
result of a natty upgrade.

This is kinda like a cosmic joke. Half of the sites does not work with
suhosin patch, yet you force it into your php5 build.
To my mind there should be just plain raw php5, and if user wishes so,
he can add himself suhosin or whatever he wants to.
Please make it raw.

Actually, I've now discovered a second root cause, this time in the
composite plugin. So unity and composite are both responsible for
triggering this bug.
I believe I have a fix for composite that works even without having to
fix Unity. Coming soon...

I can confirm this with 0.3.0.9-1ubuntu0.1 on Ubuntu 11.10 64bit. It is
annoying "feature" especially now, when tsclient can't be used on ubuntu.
