There's a related issue:
The global menu either doesn't show *at all* with gvim, or it shows in the vim
window (it's not global).
This problem disappears too when starting gvim with "gvim -f", hence it might
be related.

A similar problem happens to me, when screen is locked only one layout
works (the first one in the list of keyboard layouts), no matter what

It seems highly unlikely that a bug in xscreensaver is related to a bug in
Unity2d, which did not exist until Ubuntu 11.10. The original bug report for
this was filed using Xubuntu 10.04. Since Xubuntu does not use Unity at all,
these are most likely unrelated bugs.

The problem could be reproduced with any kernel (tested 3.0.0 so far). Due to
lack of AMD C1E idle accounting in kernel latency requirements cannot be
enforced if needed (via pm_qos for instance) and apparently there are drivers
that don't function correctly with the latencies added by AMD C1E,
I wish to apologize to the community for my post #35. It served no
useful purpose. Thanks are due to you all for constructively ignoring
it.
