but on resume the backup does not come up again, until the laptop has

I guess this bot saw the "2.6.31" Kernel from the description. However,
this problems affects kernel 3.0.0-12.20 (which is the newest one
available on the package system). Changing it back to "confirmed".

My ASUS x56TR freezes when power cord is unplugged or plugged. I've
updated my BIOS to the newest version -> no success. Adding "acpi=off
noacpi" to boot command, seems to help however, but i've not tested it
long enough to be certain.
